The House Doctor Is In

September 26, 2024 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Whether you kept the family home or plan to put it on the market…

Chances are you’ll be doing some work on it at some point. Hiring a contractor may be old hat for you, or like many of us, it may be something you’ve always left your spouse. If you took a back seat in this arena during your marriage, you may feel like you have a lot to catch up on!

Tune in for our primer on becoming a savvier homeowner. We’ll talk with Kent Shell, an experienced NYC contractor and construction liaison for architects and designers about how to hire wisely for home repairs and renovations. He’ll also offer tips on how to get your job done in an affordable, timely way. Bring your questions and your problems to the house doc!

Kent Shell has managed construction projects large and small since moving to New York, straight from art school in 1980. He has worked on both sides of the equation, both as a contractor, and as a construction administrator and liaison for architects and their clients. His experience has taught him that there are two core values critical to the success of every project: value and fairness. Contractors should be paid fairly for their work and owners should receive fair value for their dollars spent. Over the decades, Kent has consistently won the respect of both owners and contractors, by being unbiased, unflappable and firm. His company, Trusted Wise Advisor provides clients with the advice and support they need to accomplish their home construction projects successfully, whatever the size.
