Our Hidden Money Stories — One Day Workshop
Our beliefs about money, wealth and class are powerful forces in our lives, and yet they are mostly unspoken, unexamined and unquestioned. Because of the prevailing cultural taboo against talking about money, some of these beliefs are virtually unknown even to ourselves.
These hidden stories, myths and prejudices may be driving us to succeed or thwarting our greatest ambitions, they can influence who we decide to marry and whether we ultimately decide to divorce them. They are often an ongoing source of friction in our most important relationships.
This unique day-long workshop co-developed and led by a therapist and a lawyer is a rare opportunity to unearth these stories. Together we’ll take a deep dive into the origins of our money narratives and the ways (good and bad) they shape our decisions and the dynamics of our relationships. We’ll hear about others’ narratives, too, and broaden our view of how our inherited notions of money shapes identity. With greater understanding, comes greater freedom and agency. Expect to leave this day with more clarity and confidence in your ability to talk about money and consider big financial decisions. We will even practice the important money conversations we’ve been longing to have with the people in our lives.
