Grief & Gratitude with Jenny Douglas – Hudson Valley

Grief & Gratitude – Hudson Valley
In this intimate and powerful session, we visit the complex emotions that are part of separation and divorce. Through a sequence of readings, writing exercises and reflections, we express and bear witness to feelings that at first seem contradictory, but which in fact, hold the keys to moving forward.
As workshop creator Jenny Douglas puts it, “we’ll clear out what needs clearing out, in order that we might be sufficiently prepared to welcome what’s longing to come to us next.”
Society and the demands of life often pressure us to stifle, hide, or just skip the confusing stew of emotions that come with marital break up. But we shouldn’t. Allowing time to be in this big messy stew is almost always the key to moving forward. Together with a small group of others, you’ll be invited to make space for these often contradictory feelings and do some productive exploring. As scary as it might seem to enter this pool, what emerges is often surprising (and always human).

Jenny Douglas has been called “a master gatherer.” As Director of Host Experiences at the much loved woman’s organization Revel, she created and taught others to create, unique and compelling events in communities around the country. She continues to create and host one-of-a-kind experiences as the founder and director of the Brooklyn Cottage.
